Hola! Here is another post about all the yummy food I've been enjoying!
First, Chifrijo which I think has some of the best spices, ever. Mild and the tiniest bit tangy...MMMMMMMMMM...usually comes with red beans, rice, pork, pico de gallo, sliced avocados, and chips.
Then we have Chicharron - which is, as far as I can tell, deep fried pork fat with some meat still attached...yummier than it sounds! They serve this with different dips and sauces...
And Bistec Encebollado...beef with onions. Another really fantastic dish - while these foods don't look particularly exceptional, they are super tasty and super fresh. Really refreshing to my Americanized palate!
Also platanos con miel has become one of my favorite desserts! It's basically plantains fried in honey...Sooooo delicious!
Anyway, I have enjoyed my continued exploration of Costa Rican food. They don't have great pizza or ice cream, but the food here is much less processed than the foods I'm used to back home. I can taste the difference, like I have more energy and I enjoy my food more :D YAY!
