The Apartment

Updated: Aug 15, 2021

Alright, alright, admittedly this 'blog' has not been chock full of Costa Rica so far...but it will be! I promise...

Since I wound up in a not so safe apartment complex while I was living in Tucson, finding a super safe place to live was a big ol' priority when I started looking for places to live here in Costa Rica. Also, heat. Arizona was soooooo freaking hot! And while that meant that yes, the winter was pretty mild, the summer was still sizzling...like, sweating while sitting still even with the air-conditioner on full blast. And then I actually got sunburn indoors...Hot.

So, some of the coastal cities were out of the question. Plus, I wanted to be centrally located, because...I can get to more places in the country more quickly if I'm in the middle. Yay! So, I asked around and several people pointed me in the direction of Santa Ana.

Now, Santa Ana is in the foothills and is a relatively small town. But there is a hospital here and there is a ton of hiking and pottery and there is even a little Refugio de Animales I can visit, right around the corner :D They have sloths!! I cannot remember the last time I saw a sloth in an American Zoo...!

Anyway, more to the point. I found a place. It is in a gated community of condominiums and there are guards...24 hours/day. We have four pools and a jacuzzi, plus a gym, a racquetball court, and two tennis courts. My kitchen has shiny backsplash and came fully furnished so I don't have to spend money on anything except rent, internet and food (my utilities are included in my rent)!

These are the only pictures I could find on my computer of the place, and eventually I will figure out how to load pictures from my phone to this 'blog' ... but I am a technotard, so you'll have to be patient :D

THIS IS THE MAIN POOL!! Look at all the palm trees - yay!

And for some reason I was unable to upload more photos...I'm still getting used to this site so I may be photoless for a bit until I get everything up and running properly. But LOOK AT THIS POOL!!

I love it here. Some days I don't even leave the complex. I swim, I work out, I work, I sleep, I eat. Done. There is a little cantina kitty-corner behind my apartment that plays music and does karaoke from about 9:30 am until 2 am on the weekends. I get to chill on my balcony, listen to music and tan. Ay-ay-ay!
